Our History

More than anything the formation of Generations Church has been a process.  At least five years ago the desire to plant a church took root in the hearts of John and Audrey Church.  At that time they were serving in student ministry at Cypress Creek Church in Wimberley, Texas so they waited on God’s perfect timing.  In February 2004 God transitioned them out of youth ministry and took them to Fuller Seminary in Pasadena, CA for two years of further equipping.  They knew that they would plant a church once their time in seminary was finished.  The question was, “Where”?  In June 2005, God began to impress on their hearts the community of Buda, Texas.  They got very excited about the very fast growing school district and the large numbers of young families in the Buda area.  In the June 10, 2005 issue of the Austin American Statesman the front page headline article was entitled: Destination Buda.  This article was used to create a passion in them for what God desires to do in this area.  Through much prayer God unmistakably led them to “Destination Buda”.
